We look forward to welcoming you to Pretoria, South Africa, for the 2024 WUN Annual General Meeting (AGM). The meeting is generously hosted by the University of Pretoria and Interim Vice-Chancellor Themba Mosia.

Our WUN Presidents Forum will focus on Addressing Global Research Challenges in an African Context, and is being organised jointly with the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA). ARUA presidents will hold their annual meetings in parallel to our AGM, and we have set aside time in the program for both formal and informal encounters between WUN and ARUA delegations.

ACCOMMODATION

WUN has negotiated a guaranteed rate and favorable booking/cancellation with the Maslow Time Square Hotel, which will serve as an official conference hotel for AGM 2024. We encourage delegates to stay at the Maslow Time Square Hotel, as daily transportation will depart and return from/to this location. Some meetings will also take place at the hotel during the AGM.

WUN AGM 2024 HOST MEMBER

The University of Pretoria, is one of the largest contact and residential universities in South Africa, with its administration offices located on the Hatfield Campus, Pretoria. This 116-year-old institution is also the largest producer of research in South Africa. Spread over seven campuses, it has nine faculties and a business school, the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS). It is the only university in the country that has a Faculty of Veterinary Science which is ranked top in Africa, and overall has 120 academic departments, as well as 92 centres and institutes, accommodating more than 55,000 students and offering about 1,100 study programmes.
